Festoon lamps generally are used in lighting strips found in under-cabinet and alcove lighting applications. These lamps resemble electrical fuses with the specifications etched (wattage and voltage) on the end of the lamp. These lamps are available in frosted or clear in 5 watt and 10 watt versions. The rated voltage is either 12 volts or 24 volts.
